Pondering the Pond

Rich and Jo Ann Davis on May 8, 2012

Mr. Curious - and so are we curious to know the Lord's will.Mr. Curious - and so are we curious to know the Lord's will.

We do need to get a "normal" newsletter out with picture albums and a full report, but we've been delaying with the hope that we'll know the Lord's will as we make a decision concerning our future. As you know, the national president of the Bluewater Bible College (BBC) resigned and just a couple of weeks ago the board of trustees asked Jo Ann and me to continue in the role as president. Some of the questions are: Is it the Lord's will for us to continue here? Can we do more than simply maintain the status quo? How long should we consider staying?

There are several contingencies that will affect the decision and we are waiting to see how the Lord moves in the circumstances. Let us give you some of the more urgent prayer items:

 1) This is the week of final exams here at BBC. Pray for the students and staff as we all try to complete the course work and get the grades entered on the transcripts.

 2) This weekend is graduation and this will be the first time that we have had to lead a college graduation. Friday night (May 11) is the Graduation Banquet. Sunday night is Baccalaureate and Monday night is the actual Graduation Ceremony. Please pray that Jo Ann and I will do an excellent job with all the details of this weekend.

 3) We are working on some improvement projects here on campus. One couple from our home/sending church is with us this week helping and we also will have another couple from ABWE coming next week to join us on campus. Please pray that the Lord would provide all the financial needs for these projects and that the labor force will be sufficient. Volunteers have come from our island (St. Thomas USVI) as well as from St. Croix USVI. What a blessing to see the Caribbean churches get behind their school.

 4) Jo Ann and I are scheduled to return to Pennsylvania on June 1 to spend about a week there and then fly to California for our first granddaughters high school graduation. On June 11 we are scheduled to fly to St. Maarten for the annual Leadership Conference where Rich will be leading a couple of sessions as regards preparing leaders for the fields that are white unto harvest.

Please receive this short note with our deepest thanks for your love and support in prayer as well as financially. We appreciate and love each of you. You are all such a blessing to us!
